MudGear Fanatic: Kevin "Mudman" LaPlatney

Kevin LaPlatney- known to all as Mudman (themudman77)- is a career OCR competitor from Long Island, New York. When he isn't living up to his name as a human mudpit in his favorite MudGear compression socks, Mudman can be found running his gym, Obstacle Athletics. 

In the coming years, Mudman will reach a count of over 300 OCR events in his career. His proudest outdoor achievement, he says, is completing 50 miles in the World's Toughest Mudder. 

Mudman is an inspiration to OCR athletes new and old. He constantly encourages others to come out of their comfort zone, try new things, and keep challenging themselves. Most of all, Mudman challenges fellow athletes to get outdoors: "Everything you would do fitness-wise, just becomes much more fun when you can do that in the outdoors!"

LaPlatney says that he is Made Tougher- "TOUGH in the sense of grit... embracing the discomfort or pain of training."
