GORUCK Double Heavy

What the ️‍🔥 happened in North Carolina? Okay... that's vague, but something went down at Fort Bragg back in January that we're still wrapping our brains around. It started a few days ago with an email from a friend asking, "How did you miss this?" The this in question was the recent GORUCK DOUBLE HEAVY!

Does that mean what we think it means? And if so, YEAH, HOW DID WE MISS THIS? Here's what we know...

TRADITIONAL GORUCK CHALLENGES

You're thinking, 'Uh, I don't see any mention of a double." Exactly. In fact, we've scoured the entire 2021 event season, and there's nothing like it on the rest of this year's calendar. So, now we're wondering was the double REALLY a double? Was it twice as long (distance and time) as a regular heavy?

The more we thought about it, the less we wanted anything to do with future DOUBLE HEAVYs. Then, we saw the first video.

"Some of the best lessons I've learned in my life, I learned from pain."

Truer words were never spoken. It's a lesson we seldom appreciate while it's happening. Only after the pain do we see how it made us stronger.

Alright. We're back onboard wanting to experience next year's double heavy firsthand. As far as we can tell, it's a physical group-beatdown without the constant profanity-laced affront that GORUCK (presumably) reserves for their even more aggressive Selection.

The double heavy seems to be everything we love about the brand and rucking mentality - but doubled!
